This unique time in history is an important time to show care for the common good and Christian charity. It is also an opportunity for us to be carriers of the Gospel of love and hope. Feel free to share this message with anyone you think might be blessed or informed by its contents.

In an attempt to prevent the spread of illness to at-risk members of our community, Bishop David Ricken has issued a general dispensation for attendance at Sunday Masses has been granted for March 15, 22, and 29. Mass will still be celebrated, but the faith are granted dispensation from the obligation of attending. Moreover, Sunday Mass is available diocesan-wide via broadcast television on WBAY at 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning, on Relevant Radio, 1050 AM at 9 a.m., and through livestream from St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay at the following link: https://sfxcathedralgb.com.

In addition:

  • ChurchTime has been cancelled for Sunday, March 15th

  • Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon has been postponed

  • Discipleship Formation classes for March 17th and 18th have been cancelled.  A family prayer service and activities will be made available on our website.

  • Because of the possibility of direct contact with saliva in the distribution of Holy Communion on the tongue, the faithful are urged to receive Holy Communion reverently in open hands for the time being.

  • To prevent the spread of COVID-19, priests, deacons, care ministers, and extraordinary Ministers of Communion, should not be visiting the homebound, hospitals and nursing homes, except in emergency situations. Parish minister are encouraged to check-in on the sick and elderly via phone or other indirect ways such as dropping care packages at their doors.

  • The CDC also advises that all travelers to any destination should self-monitor health and practice social distancing, which includes: avoiding crowded places, group gatherings and maintaining a six-foot distance from others for 14 days upon return. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/alert/coronavirus-global

If you are in a low-risk category and are available to help with the needs of those in our community who are at high-risk, please call the parish office to become a part of a rapid pastoral response team.
